John Colquhoun
John Colquhoun has been closely involved with Barnwood Trust since 1982, becoming a Trustee in 2003 and more recently Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees before becoming Chairman. He lives in Frocester and is married with three children and five grandchildren.
In addition to being a partially retired solicitor, a churchwarden, and a director of his son's telecommunications company, John enjoys tennis and birdwatching, and loves Africa.
John has been closely involved with two charities supported by the Trust; Cotswold Care Hospice and Gloucestershire Association for Mental Health. Work with the former led him to being invited to apply to be a Director of the (then) Severn NHS Trust which was responsible for Coney Hill Hospital and then for Wotton Lawn.
Since then, John has represented people detained under the Mental Health Act and has also been involved in looking after the affairs of people lacking in mental capacity.
