Housing and Community Spaces
Barnwood Trust recognises the importance of good quality housing and of ‘community spaces’ where people can meet and socialise in an inclusive, nurturing environment. The Trust does not provide such services directly, but as part of the ‘You’re Welcome’ strategy we work with partners to facilitate good-quality housing and ‘community spaces’ for people with disabilities and mental health challenges throughout Gloucestershire. Our role is to act as a catalyst in creating housing, social spaces and environments which promote wellbeing and quality of life, and to connect their development and management with our work on community building.

Manor Gardens and Newstead Road bungalows
The Trust owns bungalows at Manor Gardens on Barnwood Road, Gloucester and on an adjacent site on Newstead Road, which are now managed by Elim Housing Association. All enquiries should be made to:

Supported living for people with mental health challenges
The Trust owns eight supported housing flats in Gloucester, for people with a mental health challenge who are in transition towards independent living. It is managed by Elim Housing Association (see above) – with support from the charity Rethink Mental Illness.
