Lots of people sitting on grass in a festival

FestivALL 2018

A festival to bring people together across the county and send a positive message that everybody is welcome in Gloucestershire.

An exciting new month of events under the banner of FestivALL aims to bring communities together and break down barriers between ethnicity, culture, faith, ability, sexual orientation, class, age and gender.

FestivALL is dedicated to inspiring inclusion across Gloucestershire, offering the opportunity for local community groups and organisations to get involved and work together.  With sponsors including Gloucester Cathedral, the Diocese of Gloucester, Barnwood Trust, and the African Community Foundation Gloucestershire, many more have signed up to take part.

Welcoming people from every walk of life, FestivALL will host one month of inclusive events between Thursday 17 May and Sunday 17 June 2018.  The month’s calendar of events run by a wide range of groups will include everything from crafts, coffee mornings and quizzes, to sport sessions, nature trails, and live music workshops.

Groups are invited to host their own event under the FestivALL banner.  So, we are on the hunt for more local groups and communities who are eager to make everybody in and around Gloucestershire feel welcome.  This could be something big or small (it might be something already in their events calendar) or it could mean working with others to bring new people together during the month-long scheme.  Promotional support will be included along with the chance to be a part of this exciting new project for 2018.

FestivALL kicks off with a free launch event at Gloucester Cathedral on the evening of Thursday 17 May, which will include an opportunity to join in a community picnic, enjoy live music and dancing in the Cathedral grounds.  On Friday 18th May, the Gloucester Diocese are also laying on a Sharing and Learning Day for people to come together to explore what inclusion is and how we can all get better at it.
