Georgia Boon

Director Of Partnerships

What am I responsible for?

I am responsible for delivering the research, development, partnership and engagement elements of our programme of work to change conditions to make Gloucestershire a better place for disabled people and people with mental health challenges.

What brings me here?

I’ve worked in the third sector for all of my career.  I started as a volunteer at home and abroad and then went on to work for Oxfam and Christian Aid in their supporter and income generating departments.  I then went on to work for Allsorts, a small charity in Gloucestershire working with disabled children and their families.

What am I working on?

I’m working on supporting my teams to do three key big things this year:

  • Create a programme of integrated policy, research and campaigning that changes systems and attitudes that impact disabled people and people with mental health challenges.
  • Develop a new engagement scheme which makes sure that disabled people and people with mental health challenges have their say on what Barnwood does, and on life in the county.
  • Introduce a place-based development programme across the county which seeks to change conditions for disabled people and people with mental health challenges across Gloucestershire.

I am also working on developing a range of new strategic partnerships and relationships for Barnwood Trust across Gloucestershire.

What do I enjoy spending time doing for my own wellbeing?

I like to spend time exercising and learning to cook new things. (She/her)
