The campaigning work undertaken by the Trust seeks to influence perceptions, understanding, and actions in relation to topics which matter to both the Trust and to disabled people and people with mental health challenges in Gloucestershire. This campaigning work, alongside our policy function, takes forward recommendations identified in our research to help create systemic change in the county.
Let’s Be Clear Campaign
In 2019 we launched the Let’s Be Clear campaign for clear face masks and clear communication. The campaign was launched with a range of local partners in response to the findings of the Our Changing World report . The report highlighted barriers to communication and a lack of accessible information during the Covid-19 pandemic. This made life more difficult for many disabled people in Gloucestershire and impacted on their mental wellbeing.
To date, the Let’s Be Clear fund has awarded over £17,000 to groups and organisations to purchase clear masks and to improve their communication. For more information about the campaign and how you can get involved please visit the campaign website.
We are currently preparing to launch our next campaign which will focus on disability and employment. If you would like further information about the campaign, please contact Jessie Hoskin Campaigns Lead, firstname.lastname@example.org
