Current Research

The Insights team recently carried out a Housing and Opportunities survey. Over 260 disabled people and people with mental health challenges living in Gloucestershire took part. The survey asked about their access to a range of opportunities (including education and training, paid work, volunteering, and leisure activities) as well as the quality and accessibility of their housing.

We will shortly be publishing reports of the findings, including recommendations stemming from the research. In the meantime you can watch a film which summarises the findings with was presented at our recent event ‘Together with Barnwood’.  Click on the image below to watch.

We have also been carrying out research to look in detail at the experiences of particular groups in Gloucestershire. This has included  research with parent carers of disabled children and adults to explore their access to short breaks (respite care). We are currently working in partnership with participants and providers to develop recommendations from this research.
