Workshop: Active Inclusion – gaining insights, taking action

Date: Wednesday 10th October 2018  1.00pm – 4.00pm

Venue: Gloucester Deaf Association, Colin Rd, Gloucester GL4 3JL

This workshop centres on the importance of inclusion, focusing on approaches and skills to make everyone feel welcome and appreciated. The session is delivered by a team of trainers all of whom have lived experience of impairments, this will enable you to look at life differently.

Through hearing stories and taking part in activities you will gain an understanding of how exclusion happens and feels. The workshop will give you ideas and guidelines to help you feel confident in welcoming everyone.

The trainers will create a safe space for you to ask questions and voice concerns. They want you to learn about the small things everyone can do which make a big difference.

By the end of the workshop you will have;

  • Insight into the different ways which exclusion can happen and how exclusion feels
  • Explored the things that can help and the things that don’t
  • Practical advice and ideas about actively promoting inclusion through your actions and in your environment to ensure that people and places are welcoming and inviting to all.

This workshop has a maximum capacity of 15 attendees and places are reserved on a first come, first serve basis. If you book onto the workshop after the capacity has been reached, please email to be placed on a waiting list.
