We have moved!

Overton House in Cheltenham

Making sure everyone feels they belong is at the heart of what we do. Our new place at Overton House is a welcoming space to help bring people together and is wheelchair accessible throughout.  Our team of around 50 staff have settled into Overton House and doors are now open to visitors.

New base for the Trust

The Trust has owned Overton House for some time, the building was previously leased to the National Star College for student accommodation. The focus of the £3 million renovation project has been on accessibility and overhauling the structure for the long term. This has included a new roof, new services, levelling all the floors in the building and installing a new lift system to ensure that the whole building meets high accessibility standards. The Trust’s newly adapted base in Cheltenham is in a central location with good public transport links, as well as offering wheelchair accessible meeting spaces that will be attractive, flexible and which will enable people to come together easily.

A welcoming space

Barnwood Trust is all about making connections with people and ensuring everybody feels welcome in and around Gloucestershire. So, part of the building is a welcoming hub for people who visit the Trust – to learn new things, share ideas, work on projects or simply to socialise together. Lawrence Miller from the Trust, said:

Our vision for Overton House is a comfortable setting for all people who use the building, guests as well as the team. The first two floors will be a welcoming space for anyone to drop in for a chat, to find information or inspiration, to attend a workshop, meet with the Barnwood team or book the space for their own meetings. We want people to feel at home with us at Overton House.”

 Continued links with Gloucester

Barnwood Trust’s history is rooted in Gloucester’s Barnwood area.  The Trust will continue its ties to the area after the office move, and we hope there will be an exciting development at the Manor Gardens site in future years. The Cheltenham base will be our main office but work will continue as it has for some time in communities, and with individuals and organisations, right across Gloucestershire.
