Shaping Homes
We are building belonging across the county by making sure more people with disabilities or mental health problems can live in homes and communities that enhance their wellbeing.
We do this by influencing the design and delivery of housing and encouraging others to build inclusive communities, not just housing. Communities where people feel they belong and housing that meets the needs of people of all ages and all abilities. Our Wellbeing Grants can also provide practical things that make life at home easier.
Barnwood Trust & Social Life have developed a new web-based toolkit called the Social Sustainability Toolkit to showcase examples of organisations and communities which have successfully created places that are more socially sustainable. The new digital resource is for place-makers in the county who have an interest in Housing, Health, Well-being and Social Sustainability.
“We want to make sure that the homes and communities that are being built now are designed around how people live, meet and mix with one another to improve wellbeing“
