Grants for you

Unfortunately due to the high demand for our “Grant for Individuals”, we are only able to open for new applications on the first Tuesday of the month.

We will open the application portal at 10am and close again as soon as we have received approximately 150 applications.

To make a “Grant for Individuals” application during the time that it is open, please click here . Please note that the portal for flexi-grant will not work when the grant is closed.

You will need to register your details to apply for a grant.  If you’ve already done this, then you will need to log into your account using the details you used to register.

During this time, the Funding Team will be available to answer any questions you may have and if the line is busy, please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as we can.  To avoid disappointment, we recommend that you register on the application portal beforehand.

It can take up to 6 weeks to process your application so please bear with us, we will be in touch as soon as we can.

If you would like to speak to the Funding Team about your grant application, email them on or call on freephone 0800 4220404 (Tuesday to Thursday, 10.00am – 4.00pm, except bank holidays).

To check the progress of an application submitted already, please log into your account on the Flexi-Grant portal here and view our Frequently Asked Questions

What can I apply for?

If you live in Gloucestershire and you have a disability or a long-term mental health challenge, you can apply for a Barnwood Trust individual grant.

We welcome applications for funding towards certain household items to support your wellbeing; or for a mobility aid.

If you are eligible and cannot afford it yourself, you can apply to us for:

  • For your home: a cooker, fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave, bed or flooring
  • For your wellbeing: a television, laptop or tablet, an online course, home exercise equipment or materials for a hobby.
  • For your mobility: a riser recliner, mobility scooter or disability aid

Things to be aware of

If you or anyone else in your household has had a grant from us in the last 12 months we will not be able to award another grant.  Each household has a limit of £1,500 and there are maximum amounts allowed for your home, your wellbeing or your mobility.  If you are unsure, please email us to check on

All items applied for are subject to availability and we are unable to fund activities that go against government safety guidelines or for ongoing household expenses.  We are unable to fund items twice or to fund items already paid for.  There are also value limits for the individual grants we award.  Any grant award will stay open for 3 months only.  Barnwood is unable to fund items available via the council or NHS.
