Martha BurtonWhat am I responsible for?

As Barnwood’s Executive Assistant, my role involves providing high-level administrative support to executives, ensuring their schedules, communications, and daily operations run smoothly. I manage calendars, arrange meetings, handle correspondence, and prioritise tasks to maximise efficiency. Additionally, I assist with welcoming members, document preparation, and keeping to date on the running of the trust. My goal is to enhance the executive’s productivity by anticipating needs, solving problems, and ensuring everything is organised and well-coordinated.

What brings me here?

I am passionate about making a positive impact, which is what drew me to Barnwood. With a strong background in administrative support, I wanted to use my skills to contribute to meaningful causes and support the trust to make a difference in the local community and beyond. My role allows me to combine my organisational expertise with my desire to help others, ensuring that executives can focus on strategic initiatives while I handle the logistics and day-to-day operations. This work gives me a deep sense of fulfilment, knowing I’m part of something bigger.

What do I enjoy spending time doing in my spare time? 

In my free time, I love spending quality time with my husband and our unbelievably cute dog. We love going on spontaneous getaways and outdoor adventures like hiking, skiing, and rock climbing; never failing to end the day by the fire in a local country pub.
