Nicola Mosley
Chief Operating Officer
What am I responsible for?
I am responsible for ensuring that we have effective and efficient governance, financial and operational arrangements in place.
What brings me here?
I started working at Barnwood in 2012, prior to that I had worked in the charity sector in independent schools for 15 years. Working in the charity sector is something I feel very lucky to do and enjoy the challenge of ensuring charitable resources are maximised for their beneficiaries.
What am I working on?
We continue to develop our funding programmes, both in terms of what Barnwood is able to fund and also to be accountable for what it does and does not fund. My priorities for this year are therefore:
- Overseeing a review of Barnwood’s grant offer to individuals. Having needed to respond the urgent and immediate needs during the pandemic, we are now reviewing what the offer should be and are working with experts by experiences, both lived and knowledge experience, to develop the new grant. We are hoping to launch the new grant offer during Q2 2022.
- Having introduced new organisational funding programmes in 2021, I am overseeing the development and implementation of a monitoring and evaluation framework to increase our transparency and accountability for the funding that Barnwood awards, but also does not award.
What do I enjoy spending time doing for my own wellbeing?
I enjoy being active either by doing sport (swimming, power walking or yoga) or by something more relaxing like dressmaking or going for a long walk with family or friends. I also enjoy having an opportunity to just be quiet and on my own. (She/her)
