Brooke Abrames
Funding Relationship Manager
What am I responsible for?
As a Funding Relationship Manager, I am responsible for managing the lifecycle of funding applications from a portfolio of organisations. I provide guidance and feedback opportunities for applicants before their proposals are submitted, and once awarded, I provide ongoing support, feedback opportunities, and personalised check-ins. By building relationships with our funded partners, I hope to increase the accessibility and transparency of the funding process for organizations and report on valuable learning and insights coming from the work our funded partners are engaged in.
What brings me here?
I am originally from California, where I led a non-profit arts organisation. In that role I gained experience in a variety of skills that drew me to this role at Barnwood Trust, including fundraising, bid writing, and developing community partnerships. During the same period, I served as a co-founder of a regional alliance that organised leaders in the arts and culture sector to advocate for arts policy and support at the local level. In the past, I have also served as a Marketing & PR Manager for a fine arts museum and volunteered for community organisations.
What do I enjoy spending time doing in your spare time?
I enjoy getting away for skiing with my husband, spending time in my garden with my pugs or getting out for long walks in the countryside. I love travelling, exploring new places, and on rainy days, reading and video games.
