Dan Jacques
Lead Researcher
What am I responsible for?
I am responsible for leading on research projects looking at issues affecting disabled people and people with mental health challenges in Gloucestershire.
What brings me here?
I started my career supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs in a variety of settings before joining Barnwood Trust in 2016. In addition to my degree in Education Studies, I recently completed a Masters in Inclusion and Special Educational Needs.
What am I working on?
I am currently involved in a researching short breaks and respite care provision in the county. Short breaks and respite care were a key theme in our recent ‘Our Changing World’ report and we want to hear from parent carers, providers and commissioners about their experiences and what can be done to support families of disabled children and adults in Gloucestershire. This work will inform a project later in the year.
What do I enjoy spending time doing for my own wellbeing?
I really enjoy going for long walks, particularly around the Forest of Dean. I am also a supporter of Gloucester Rugby (which is not great for my wellbeing at times!) and look forward to being able to get back to Kingsholm to watch them live! (He/him)
