Jennie Curtis

Head of People

What am I responsible for?

I am responsible for our people policies and processes, ensuring that they support the wellbeing and safe working practices for our employees and volunteers. I head up the People team which also includes internal communications and workplace and facilities management.

What brings me here?

I am a chartered member of the CIPD and have been working in HR (People) related roles for around 11 years. I have experience in a variety of organisations but love the unique challenges that working in this sector and for an organisation this size brings. Every day is different and the people you meet all have something to teach you.

What am I working on?

My team and I are currently focused on the challenges of enabling everyone to work safely through and post Pandemic. One of my main priorities is also supporting the design and delivery of an organisation wide development programme focused on Personal Development, Disability and Mental Health Awareness. I am very excited to be supporting Sally in creating a diversity and inclusion strategy and ensuring this is reflected in our people policies and practices.

What do I enjoy spending time doing for my own wellbeing?

I love hiking and travelling to new challenges. Pandemic permitting, I play a lot of netball – although I do practice yin yoga to balance the frequent injuries this causes! (I have been known to come to work on crutches and in a cast!!). I am terrible at meditating or being still generally but love losing myself in anything creative. (She/her)
