Ruth Hunt

Funding Administrator

What am I responsible for?

I work as part of a team to administer the different grants the Barnwood Trust provides to individuals and organisations. I also contribute to the development of the processes and procedures for the Grants.

What brings me here?

I am particularly passionate about wanting to make a difference to the lives of people with mental health challenges and physical disabilities. This resonates with me as I have had family with mental health challenges and know how difficult it can be to access help when needed.

I have a background of working with the British Red Cross in Event First Aid and have also worked within the Veterinary sector as well as many other areas throughout my life.

What am I working on?

I am currently working on processing grant applications as well as working with the rest of the team to identify ways we can improve upon the grant so as many applicants as possible have a chance to access them.

What do I enjoy spending time doing for my own wellbeing?

My main passion is looking after animals, having 8 rescue animals currently. I have an interest in researching new methods of treatments for sick animals. I love travelling to different countries and immersing myself in new cultures and learning. Reading, walking, Eating out and plants! Can never have enough plants!
