Join Barnwood Circle

We want a range of people to be a part of Barnwood Circle to inform our work. Barnwood Circle is free to join, inclusive and accessible.

Membership is open to:

  • Disabled people
  • People with mental health conditions
  • Unpaid carers


Being a member

Members join Barnwood Circle for up to 3 years to:

  • Share experiences, views and ideas
  • Take part in co-design projects with us
  • Join meetups in-person or online
  • Get a quarterly Round Up newsletter
  • Access the member area of our website 


Being involved

We want Barnwood Circle to be straightforward and accessible. Tell us what would make it possible for you to be involved.

Accessible: We will talk with you to understand your access needs and how you prefer to stay in touch.

Relaxed and Informal: Meetups and projects are focused on sharing, listening and change. We also want them to be relaxed and informal.

Money: Barnwood Circle is free to join. If you need something to help you be involved, we will pay for it. This could include:

  • transport
  • interpretation
  • support or personal assistance


What to expect

We want to make sure that everyone involved in Barnwood Circle is treated respectfully, equally and fairly.  You can expect us to:

  • Be clear about the purpose of our activities.
  • Listen to what members tell us.
  • Listen to feedback and make sure we learn and improve.
  • Provide clear information about our expenses policy.
  • Offer an optional payment of £15 per hour for working on a project with us.

If you become a member, you will be invited to an induction meeting. You will get a welcome pack and we will support you to get started.
