Membership scheme for Barnwood Trust

Have you heard about Barnwood Circle yet?

 

This new membership scheme is a network of people who inform and guide Barnwood Trust’s work to influence and make change in Gloucestershire. The scheme began with a pilot phase and a soft launch during 2022 and we are now officially open for new membership requests.

What is it?

Barnwood Circle is a new membership scheme. It is free to join and aims to be fully inclusive and accessible. Barnwood Circle is for anyone who wants to see changes in Gloucestershire for disabled people and people with mental health conditions. As a member of Barnwood Circle you can help make a difference by sharing your experiences, views and ideas.

 

Who can join?

We want a wide range of people to be a part of it, diverse experiences are welcomed and encouraged.

The aim is that members will include disabled people and people with mental health conditions, as well as carers and family members. Whilst Barnwood Circle is open to professionals and community leaders, the focus in this early stage is on members who might be able to join projects as Experts by Lived Experience.

We want Barnwood Circle to be accessible to everyone. Tell us what would help you to take part and we will work with you so that you can be involved in the ways you want to.

 

What can I expect as a member of Barnwood Circle?

As a Barnwood Circle member you can choose how involved you want to be.

You can come along to meetups around topics in different areas of Gloucestershire, and online. Meetups are also a way for Barnwood Circle members to connect and for new people to find out about Barnwood Circle membership. There are also opportunities to get involved in a range of projects with the Trust.

As a member you will receive a welcome pack, quarterly member newsletters called ‘Round Up’ and access to the members area on our website.

Barnwood Circle is free to join. If you need to pay for something to enable you to be involved, we will pay for it. This could include transport, an interpreter, support or personal assistance.

 

How can I become a member?

Registration is through conversation with a Barnwood Connector.
