Gloucestershire Work and Wellbeing Alliance - Barnwood Trust

Gloucestershire Work and Wellbeing Alliance

Following two years of listening to, working with and collating the experiences of people with disabilities and mental health challenges, the Gloucestershire Work and Wellbeing Alliance (GWWA) are now using their findings to make a positive difference across the county.

GWWA have produced a briefing report entitled Fair, effective, clear, personal: What people with disabilities and mental health issues across Gloucestershire want from the services that support them to find work or meaningful activity. It sets out what changes need to be made to local services and how these changes can and will be achieved. Using the report findings, GWWA are aiming to improve the experiences, opportunities and conditions available for people with disabilities and mental health challenges who seek access to paid work, voluntary work or meaningful activity.

Access to the opportunity to undertake paid or voluntary work or meaningful activities can make a huge difference to people with disabilities and mental health challenges. GWWA will bring together key groups of people who will provide the focus and opportunity for the work to really flourish and make a difference.

Hannah Williams from GWWA says:

‘We are already using the findings of this report to work more effectively within communities to make an important difference to the lives of people with disabilities and mental health issues’.

For more information about the briefing report or to download a copy visit the GWWA website or email info@gwwa.org.uk.
