Small Sparks could be ignited in your community…. - Barnwood Trust

Small Sparks could be ignited in your community….

Barnwood Trust has launched a new grants programme called Small Sparks.

Small Sparks grants are for people across the county who want to get together with friends and neighbours to do things that they enjoy, benefitting the community where they live.  It could be for gardening equipment to grow vegetables together, books or DVDs to get a club going or maybe some wool and knitting needles for a group you are already part of.

Grants of up to £250 are available and there are no formal application forms to complete. You just need to make sure that at least one of you wanting to enjoy the activity has a disability or mental health challenge or is an older person who would like to make more friends. There must to be a minimum of four people involved and everyone in the group needs to be prepared to contribute their time, energy and talents.

Gail Rodway, Grants Manager at Barnwood Trust, said:
‘We started telling people about Small Sparks a couple of months ago and have so far had a fantastic response. People have come together to knit, to start a photography group and to cook healthy meals together. One group in Stroud received a grant to enable them to build a 3D model of all the safe spaces in the town.
People can find out more by visiting www.yourewelcome.to and searching for ‘Small Sparks’. They can also give us a call on 01452 611292 or email gail.rodway@barnwoodtrust.org.’ Or click here to see more information on the Barnwood Trust website.

Small Sparks is part of Barnwood Trust’s ten-year plan, You’re Welcome, to create more welcoming and inclusive communities across Gloucestershire.
